This is an early 1900’s James Whitcomb Riley button that would have been a souvenir of his home which was opened up after his death. He is known for writing AMERICA'S MOST POPULAR CIVIL WAR POEM and was a beloved American writer and poet called the “Hoosier poet" and America's "Children's Poet" one of whose sentimental poems was “ Little orphant (orphan) Annie”. He was born in 1849 and passed in 1916. In great condition.
