Hand painted fan from around 1800. Painted on silk I suppose, not on paper anyway. The legs are bone. The front and back leg is with mother of pearl on it, and on the front leg the mother of pearl under is broken, but it is still complete and it is easy to glue on again. The silk is a bit worn out at some places. The line which is holding the fan together above is broken at some places as you can see on the third picture. The second leg from the left is broken [not under but the part what is in sticking in the picture, around one centimeter from where the silk of the picture begins]. Still a nice collector's item. 28 centimeter [11 inches] high. When you fold it out if the line would be correct it is 49 centimeter [19.2 inches] wide. Weight is 83 gram [2.92 ounces].
