This is a handsome desk handmade from a lovely patinaed walnut by the beginning of the 18th century during the reign of Louis XIV, consisting of an upper rectangular top sitting upon an intricately embellished scrolled belt accented with acanthus pattern, all supported by a beautiful pediment consisting of barley twisted legs connected to each other thanks to a H-shaped stretcher that provides stability and sturdiness. Note several scratches and dents all around the item due to the age. Circa date 1700. Dimensions 30"high/ 39"wide/ 24"deep.
