Antique, 18th century rare Scottish highlander's flattened cowhorn gun powder horn dated “A 1770” and letters “G.E.G”(A stays for Anno-Year) DETAILS: curved body decorated with engraved wild boar, pelican, rabbit, tree in the middle and slipping unicorn surrounded by flowers, other side engraved with a scene depicting a deer running in the woods and the hound behind him. The nozzle is carved as a snarling bear head with bone inlaid eyes and its original wooden plug, the fitted base is engraved with characteristics highland flowers. Overall length with the stopper: 29cm (17 3/8 in).
