Appraised in 1988 for $7,500 by Anton Rudert, Jr. Appraisals of New York NY, a Senior Member of the American Society of Appraisers. This chest comes from the collection of Roni Steinberg Sokoloff and resided in her former 63-acre estate in Bedford New York known as Cantitoe Farms. (Formerly known as Sycamore Farms, the estate is down the road from Martha Stewart's estate.) The chest was purchased by Ms. Sokoloff in the 1980s.
