One of a kind and a statement piece like no other, this solid 18kt gold ( 15 grams) fur clip was designed by Gubelin. The Swiss firm of Gubelin was founded in the mid 19th Century and was originally known for its watches and clocks, and later for its fine jewelry. Today, Gubelin is best known for classically designed and finely crafted jewelry and for its state of the art laboratory which specializes in origin analysis and identification of colored gemstones as well as the identification of Golconda diamonds. In 1923 Gubelin began making and selling jewelry along with watches and clocks. Eduard Moritz Gübelin set up a jewelry atelier for this purpose in the upper floor of the Gubelin premises on the Schwanenplatz in Lucerne. An increasing number of fake and treated gems begin appearing on the market. In response, Eduard Moritz Gübelin sets up his company's own gemological laboratory to test the quality of gems, identify fakes and so maintain the trust of his customers. This first Gubelin gemological lab is run by his employee Charles Salquin.1928:The demand for jewelry from the House of Gubelin continues to grow. As a result the jewelry atelier in Lucerne is expanded and modernized.
