Very nice 1896 English sampler. It is "In Loving Memory of Mona Cannell." It reads: "In loving memory of Isabella Beloved wife of Thomas Cannell of Blackpool. Died Jan 19th 1896. In her 22nd year. Interred at Blackpool Cemetery Jan 23. My strength and my heart faileth. But God is the strength of my heart and my portion for ever. A present to Mona Cannell By her Aunt M. Fish." The sampler requires stretching and reframing. Measurements: O - 25 1/4" x 21 1/4" & I - 23 1/2" x 19 1/2." Shadows from the glass, slight fading at bottom. (5 LB, 9.2 OZ) (H)
