1895 14K GOLD WASH DC Master MASON MASONIC Knight's Templar JEWEL – BOXED SECRET INSCRIPTIONS HAND ENGRAVED

Unavailable
WHat a great piece of Knight's Templar Masonic history! This hanging 14kt gold jewel or medal or badge is 4-1/2 inch x 2 inch..IT has the letters K S H T W S S T was often found on headstones as well as some coins. The meaning of K.S.H.T.W.S.S.T. is esoteric I managed to locate some explanation that it stands for "Huram of Tyre, Widow's Son, Sent To King Solomon". Huram of Tyre is the only stonemason-architect mentioned by name in the Bible (I Kings 7: 13-14 and elsewhere), and was responsible for overseeing the construction of Solomon's Temple. As such, in Freemasonry he is held in high esteem. .The "K.S.H.T.W.S.S.T." symbol on a headstone indicates that the person had completed the crytic degrees of the York Rite and was a "Royal Arch Mason" in the York Rite Degrees of Freemasonry. Also this symbol shows that the man was a Royal Arch Mason as well as a Master Mason who was active in his local Masonic Blue Lodge. York Rite Masons remember the order of the lettering by this cute little verse, "King Solomon Had Twelve Wives Some Say Twenty". Tested by a jeweler to be 14k gold. It weighs 33.2 grams. It comes in the original box with purple satin lining.. PLease remember that vintage & antique items are not mint, nor are they perfect but they sure are full of old history and charm. Please use photos to make your decisions
