This wonderful British oil painting depicting a still life scene of grapes and other fruit, is signed P.W. Johnson and dated 1875. Stretcher measures 8 by 10 inches, and the gilded, period frame measure 12.25 by 14.25 inches. (Frame was recently regilded.) Canvas verso carries the stamped mark for Winsor & Newton of 38 Rathbone Place, London. (Founded in 1832, the firm is one of the oldest continually operated art supply companies in the world.)
