1800's Chinese Vermeil Carved Turquoise Necklace Earrings demi Parure OLD

Unavailable
This set is from the late 1800's and has the most incredible filigree work on the bales as well as the back ( see closeup). THe Chain is the most delicate link chain that is hand wrought and not machine made. The stone has natural fissures (natural formation within a single intact mass of stone. Fissure is not a defect) in it and is carved turquoise. The screw back earrings match the pendant on the necklace and are also marked China on the back as does the necklace. The filigree work is made of wires; hand-fashioned with tweezers and toothpicks to form the desired pattern and then fired in a kiln to approximately 1700 degrees Fahrenheit to fuse together with gold dust. These are so old the gold has virtually evaporated from the metal creating this gorgeous dark patina. You won't find sets like this often if at all and this one has never been offered for sale before since it is from our private collection. THe necklace has a neat old filigree clasp and measures 17 1/2" long. THe large center carved pendant is 1 1/4" x 1". The earrings are 1 1/4" x 3/4". This set is in great condition and when you look close at the stone you can see how it was carved and the detail of the different shades of turquoise. Don't miss out on this on at the last minute because I am sure it will not be here long. VintageSparkles offers Layaway on all our pieces regardless of which site it comes from.
