This is a wonderful Herschede moon-dial, nine-tube, triple-weight mahogany empire case grandfather clock with a brass filigree face that dates from some time in the early 1900s. It says on the dial, on the brass filigree, that this clock was from the Hennegen-Bates Company out of Baltimore who sold it. It has brass numerals, a silver-etched background, second hand, a Westminster chime, a Woodington chime, and the 30-day moon dial. The moon dial is hand painted and there is some paint loss on one section that goes right across the face, which the photos will show. The very top of the clock had some issues, where the molding had been notched and broken. We have replaced the molding and dust cover on the canopy top, colored it to factory specs, and if I didn’t mention it, you would never know. The clock has large pillars with Corinthian-carved tops, beveled glass all around the except for the clock face of course, beveled glass sides, and you can get in and out from several side doors. It comes with the original key, is finished in a dark reddish-brown stain, and other than some nicks and dings that we will try to get out and the work on the canopy top, this clock is in its wonderful original condition. Normally we like to have our clock expert, Ed Openshaw in Rumney, NH, take a look at them, and if you’d like that done we can make sure he cleans it, rewire the chimes bars and goes over the clock completely to make sure it’s in perfect working order, for no extra cost. The overall size of the clock is 28 inches wide, 20 inches deep, and 97 inches tall. You can remove the bun feet on the bottom and it may fit better in your home if you have 8 foot high ceilings. Also, please take a look around the rest of the site, and remember that we give a generous freight discount when you purchase multiple items from our site. Call 1-800-553-3269 for details.
