Robert and Bernice Leekya Zuni jewelry bolo tie featuring a large natural Kingman Turquoise nugget with matching tips mounted in 14k yellow gold. Robert Leekya's work in gold is extremely rare. This heavy, solid 14k gold bolo measures 2 by 3 inches with a 2 by 1 and one quarter inch single turquoise nugget. The tie is braided dark brown leather. Robert Leekya is the son of famous fetish carver Leekya Deyuse. When his children entered school, Mr. Deyuse requested that they take his first name as their surname. All of his children (Alice, Sarah, Elizabeth, Robert and Roger) did so. Robert and his brother Roger and sister Elizabeth became silversmiths. His sisters Alice Leekya Homer and Sarah Leekya (Homer) are known as fetish carvers.
