ANTIQUE CHINESE SWORD DAMASCUS STEEL CH’ING DYNASTY PERIOD

Unavailable
Antique, late 18th century, Chinese Ch’ing Dynasty period time double edge sword. The blade is heavy and sturdy compared to similar swords and is made from hand forged Damascus steel but to make the pattern clearly visible the blade has to be repolished. The cross guard, pommel and the scabbard are made from brass with grip made of dark brown horn. Overall length with the scabbard is 26 ¾ inches (68cm). Length of the sword without the scabbard: 26 1/8 inches (66,3cm), length of the blade: 20 ¼ inches (51 ½ cm) Blade is slightly sharp Condition: the sword is in good condition considering its age except for a damage to the cross guard, split on the join of the brass scabbard and missing one suspension loop what can be expected from approximately 200 years old piece.
