Authentic Antique American Civil War US officer's sword pattern 1850.
DETAILS: A cast brass semi basket guard decorated in open work with leaves and a floral pattern. A wooden grip covered in white metal imitating shark skin and bound with copper wire. A brass pommel engraved with leaves. A European import - German blade with two fullers etched on one side with the American eagle, foliage, and cannon. The ricasso is signed" Eisenhauer". The opposite side of the blade is engraved with US and marital trophies stamped at the forte with an arrow. The engraved cannons on the blade indicate that the sword in fact is an Artillery officer's sword.
CONDITION: The sword is in good condition except for some damage to the white metal on the grip.
MEASUREMENTS: Overall length: 94,5 cm (37 1/4 in).
