6.4 tct Pear Shaped Diamond Platinum Ring

Unavailable

This magnificent engagement ring with platinum setting features a pear-shaped center diamond weighing 5.02 carats, and two pear-shaped diamonds each weighing 0.7 carats. 6.42 total carats. Ring size is unknown. In 1997 the ring was appraised at $25,000 by a GIA graduate gemologist, and we'll gladly include the original appraisal at time of purchase. Here's a summary of the key specifications as noted in our GIA Diamond Grading Report. (Please page down to see images of the report.)
Color (center & side stones): G [Near Colorless]
Fluorescence (center stone): Medium Blue
Clarity: I3 (center); SI-2 (side stones)
Carats: 5.02 (center); 0.70 (side stones)
Gem Size (center stone): 15.21 mm x 9.55 mm x 5.39 mm
We recently had this diamond inspected by a jeweler who indicated the I3 clarity grade was misleading, for the stone has excellent fire and brilliance, and the stone lacks the dark carbon inclusions normally present with stones at this clarity grade.
Other specifications are as follows: Table, 62%; Depth, 56.4%; Girdle, medium to extremely thick, faceted; Culet, none; Polish, Good; Symetry, Good. All specifications shown here were taken directly from our GIA report. Specifications on the side stones (namely carat weight and clarity) were provided in a written appraisal from Gemquest Jewelry & Antiques, Inc., of Bellmore, NY.
