This is one of the finest looking thermometers I have seen. Mounted on a turned ebony base with an ebony backplate is an engraved ivory thermometer in the form of a Corinthian column. It has a Faherenheit scale on the left and a centigrade scale on the right. Marked temperatures on the ivory show freezing, temperate, summer heat, and blood heat. There is an old age crack in the base that has not gotten any worse since I have had it in my personal collection for several years.
