Long brass trumpet, 28 ½" in length; with attached embroidered banner bearing the Queen's Arms, the Royal Coat of Arms of the United Kingdom, adopted at the ascension of Queen Victoria in 1837. Purple velvet background with white liner on reverse, embroidered with heavy gold metallic bullion thread; the edge trimmed with gold metallic fringe. Of very fine quality, dating to the mid-19th C, showing fading and wear commensurate with age. This is the type of banner which would have been displayed on the wall of a mansion or castle. Banner 23" wide by 25" long.
