Made by Horstmann, featuring the standard one-piece cast brass hilt with knucklebow and simulated wire wrap. Straight single-edged 28" blade with single fuller, stamped on the ricasso "HORSTMANN’S/PHILA"; the other side stamped only with "R". Being offset, it is possibly only a single letter of a two-letter inspector’s stamp that was improperly applied. Black leather scabbard with brass mounts. Much better condition than usually found, with smooth blade with no nicks, nice patina to brass, and sound leather scabbard with a few small cracks and handling marks.
