Deeply convex steel construction, 18 ½" diameter, with riveted brass rim and mounted with 4 large hemispherical bosses. The entire surface engraved with floral and geometric decor and Islamic script, inlaid with gold and silver koftgari (losses, especially to the silver). Reverse showing hammer marks and minimal corrosion. No lining or carrying straps. Attractive shield showing excellent craftsmanship.
